I made the cake and the cream cheese frosting per this recipe but used my own coffee caramel recipe for the drizzle and added fall colored fondant leaves for decor on the top. I’m certain I’ll be asked to make this again in the future. Everyone was sort of over a pie for dessert this year and wanted cake instead and this was a showstopper.

I brought it to Friendsgiving and it was a hit! I loved the flavor of the pumpkin cake and the caramel flavor was such a delicious add to the cream cheese frosting. I did struggle with the caramel sauce being a little too runny (and it also didn’t help that my cake layers were not totally flat) but I think that’s user error lol!

Possibly the best cake I have ever made. I chose to use two 9 inch rounds because that is what i had and it just needed an extra 5 minutes in the oven. The frosting paired well with the cake and everyone loved it! Highly recommend you try this recipe!

This may be the best cake I ever made – and I bake a lot. Making it next week for the 3rd time based on requests. Everyone praises this cake – taste and looks. I 1 1/2 times the frosting and double the glaze recipe since I find those proportions work better but otherwise I wouldn’t change a thing! Thanks for such a great recipe.
