Hi!! Yes you can–the bake time will be slightly longer because the cakes will be thicker, but it should work!

You can use either! If you do cake flour you’ll do 3 cups and if you use all-purpose flour you’ll do 2 2/3. It’s in a note in the recipe card 🙂

However I will say that unless you want a “naked cake” look and don’t want to do any extra decorative frosting or line the sides to keep the filling contained, a single batch of this frosting recipe is not enough (I made a second batch to go over the crumb coat), and the filling makes a lot of leftovers even after I piled it pretty high on the cake.

Cannoli filling is delicious. Something to note is that when making the buttercream frosting, don’t be afraid to mix it for up to ten minutes. I don’t make buttercream that often and after watching some tik toks I realized mine was grainy at first cause I just wasn’t mixing it long enough. Also I stored the cake in the fridge overnight and it did not dry the cake out any. Hope this helps!
